Save a plain picture of your 3D view — no AI, no credits

Tap **Save image** at the top of the 3D view. You get a plain picture of exactly what's on screen, without the buttons. On a computer it downloads as a PNG; in the apps it goes to your Photos. It isn't AI and uses no credits.

Want a normal picture of your room exactly as the 3D view shows it, with the same colors, furniture and light? Use the Save image button at the top of the 3D view. It keeps the view on screen as it is: no AI, no credits, and the 3D view's own buttons are left out of the picture.

Want a fixed photo shape (Landscape, Portrait or Square) or an eye-level shot inside a room? Render Studio's Take photo does that, and it's free too. A screenshot also works. Both are covered below.

What you'll need

  • •A design you can open in the 3D view

Step by step

  1. 1

Set up the view you want

Open your design and click View in 3D (the cube button in the toolbar above the plan). Drag to turn the view, scroll or pinch to zoom, tick Dollhouse to see the whole home with the near walls cut away, or walk inside at eye level. High quality and Shadows at the bottom right make the picture look its best. Tick Line art if you want a black-and-white line drawing instead (see See your 3D view as a line drawing).

  2. 2

    Tap Save image

Save image is at the top right of the 3D view, between the blue AI Render button and the red ✕. On a phone it's a round button with only the picture icon (a picture with a down arrow), just left of the ✕. The picture is the whole 3D view as you see it right now, without the buttons around the edges.

On a computer: Save image, between AI Render and ✕.
  3. 3

On a phone, it's the picture icon

Phones don't have room for the label, so the same button shows only its icon. It does exactly the same thing.

On a phone: the picture icon left of ✕.
  4. 4

    Find your picture

On a computer (in a web browser), the picture downloads as a PNG file named like room-3d-2026-10-20-1123.png, to your usual Downloads folder. In the iPhone, iPad and Android apps, it saves straight to your Photos, and a blue Image saved to Photos message confirms it. It's the plain 3D view: your walls, flooring, furniture and windows as you designed them, with no AI changes. Share it, print it, or put it in a presentation.

The saved file: the 3D view exactly as it was, with no buttons.

Another way: take a photo in Render Studio

Want a set photo shape or an eye-level shot inside a room? Tap AI Render at the top of the 3D view. Render Studio opens standing at the view you were looking at (from a view above the rooms, you stand at eye level in the room in the middle of the screen). Pick Landscape, Portrait or Square and frame the shot with the camera sliders; the bright rectangle shows exactly what will be saved. Tap Take photo. This uses no credits: the credit counter at the top doesn't change.

Frame the shot inside the viewfinder, then tap Take photo. No credit is used.
  6. 6

    Open the photo

Your new photo opens straight away, with the style options for an AI render beside it. You don't need any of those. Just tap the photo itself to see it full screen. You can come back to it any time under Your photos.

Tap the photo to open it full screen. The credit count hasn't changed.
  7. 7

    Download it

Tap the download button at the top right of the full-screen photo. On a computer it saves as a PNG file (1536 × 1024 pixels for a Landscape photo); in the iPhone, iPad and Android apps it goes to your Photos. The trash button next to it deletes the photo. Render Studio is part of the full version of RoomSketch3D. If you don't see AI Render, use Save image instead.

The download button saves the photo exactly as the 3D view showed it.

    Or take a screenshot

A screenshot of the 3D view works too. It just includes the buttons unless you drag a selection around the view: - Windows: press Windows + Shift + S and drag around the view. - Mac: press Shift + Command + 4 and drag around the view. - iPhone / iPad: press the side (or top) button and volume up together. - Android: press power and volume down together.

Tips

Turn on High quality before you save

High quality and Shadows make the picture look its best, and Save image keeps them. If your device feels slow, turn them back off afterwards.

Want the whole home in one picture?

Tick Dollhouse and use the arrow buttons to turn the home a quarter turn at a time, then tap Save image. Every room is in the picture at once.

A sketch-style picture

Tick Line art first and the saved picture is a black-and-white line drawing. Untick it to go back to color.

Common mistakes

Looking for Save image inside Render Studio

Save image is on the regular 3D view. Inside Render Studio, use Take photo and then the photo's download button, or close the studio first.

Tapping Generate when you only wanted the photo

In Render Studio, Generate makes an AI render and uses one credit. For a plain picture, tap the photo and use download instead.

Frequently asked questions

Is there a Save image button in the 3D view?

Yes. It's at the top right of the 3D view, between AI Render and the red ✕. On a phone it shows only a picture icon. It saves the view on screen, without the buttons: a PNG download on a computer, or straight to Photos in the apps.

Does Save image use AI or credits?

No. It's a plain copy of the 3D view. Credits are used only when you generate an AI render in Render Studio.

Saving to Photos failed on my iPhone or iPad. What do I do?

RoomSketch3D needs permission to add photos. Open the iPhone or iPad Settings app → RoomSketch3D → Photos and choose Add Photos Only, then tap Save image again. If the message in the app has an Open Settings button, tap it to go straight there.

Saving failed on my Android phone. What do I do?

Open Settings → Apps → RoomSketch3D → Permissions and allow Photos (on some phones it's called Storage), then try again. Also check that your phone has free space. If the message has an Open Settings button, it takes you there.

It said "The 3D view wasn't ready yet". Why?

The 3D view was still drawing when you tapped. Wait a moment until the room is fully shown, then tap Save image again.

Does the picture keep Line art, Dollhouse and High quality?

Yes. It saves what the 3D view shows, so a line drawing, a dollhouse view, or High quality with shadows all come out the way you see them.

Does taking a photo in Render Studio use a credit?

No. Taking photos and downloading them uses no credits. A credit is used only when you tap Generate to make an AI render.

Can I save a picture of the 2D floor plan instead?

Yes. Use Export → PNG/PDF or Print for the floor plan, or the Elevations view for straight-on pictures of each outside wall. See Export and share options and Elevation views.

Can I get the 3D model itself?

Yes. Export → GLB downloads your design as a 3D model you can open in 3D viewers and editors such as Blender or SketchUp.
